Research:
I like the idea that these photos have. I want to incorporate candles and bubbles together in my images.
I like the idea that these photos have. I want to incorporate candles and bubbles together in my images.
My 20 Photos:
All of these images were taken in my bathroom sink. I had put a bar of soap in the sink and let the water run until I had a lot of fluffy bubbles. I them placed the candle with the bubbles and messed around with the lighting.

My 4 Edited:
In photoshop my main goal was to try something different than I previously have. In the first photo I drew little white and blue dots so the bubbles seem more shiny. In the second image I selected a photo filer that was more orange. On the third image I used a cooling photo filter and messed with the color balancing tool. For the fourth image I had edited the background photo more bring and but the layer of he trees above it with the opacity of 15%.

Printed/Matted Photo:
5 Step Critique:
1.) Observe-
2.)Describe- This photograph is a 8.5 inch by 11 inch digital print on a glossy paper with a grey frame of a candle in some bubbles. This photo was taken up close and is a horizontal image. The candle is off center to the upper right corner around the bubbles are surrounding it. The bubbles go to the rim of the candle. The candle is lit and the brightness of the candle bounces off the bubbles closest to it giving it an orange color. The entire image itself has a light blue tint to it. Sadly when the image was printed out the printer printed vertical lines across the whole image.
3.)Analyze- One element of design incorporated in this photo would be space. Space is occurring all around the candle because there is one object in the photo and the item taking up the rest of the photo is bubbles. Space is being used by placing the candle off center and not having anything else in the water. The purpose of the space was to make the viewers eye go directly towards the candle instead of anything else. One principal of design this photo best represents would be contrast. Contrast is being used with the candle and the rest of the photo's color. To specify the location of the contrast is happening with the candle being a warm color and the bubbles being a cool color. With contrast certain things stand out more than others. Such as in the photo, with the candle being a warm color and the bubbles being a cool color, the viewers eye goes toward the bright color (which is the candle). Another element of design would be texture. Texture is really emphasized in the bubbles. In each bubble you can see the tiny details and when you stand back you are able to see each one collaborate with one another creating a wave of soft textures. The reason for the texture was to give the viewer a soft vibe to it. Another principal of design used in this photo would be unity. Unity is used, once again, through the bubbles and how they are all together.
4.)Interpret- This image's purpose was to give the view a sense of relaxation. The photo is construed of bubbles and a single candle and typically people relate both bubbles and candles to possibly a spa or an area where relaxation occurs. The story to this image was after a long day of either school or work everybody deserves some type of relaxation.
5.)Evaluate- Overall, I think my photo was very successful! My intentions for taking photos were to take a photo that would give the viewer a sense of relaxation, and after speaking to my peers I have accomplished that! For editing photos I used a new editing tool in photoshop called photo filter. That is how my image had the cool tint all over it.
