Research:
These photos were really interesting because I like how the photographer took an everyday object and had a different point of view of them.

My 27 New Photos:
I took these photos at the front of the school with my friend Danny. I was mainly looking for faces in general and I captured faces in nature verses actual faces. For the last two images I was at home and noticed how the mask clearly looks like a face and the plug in area.

My 5 Edited:
After playing around with these four photos in photoshop I mainly changed the levels of the photos. On the bark photo I was aiming for a more realistic vibe, enhancing the background colors, v.s. the outlet photo which is very surreal.

5 Step Critique:
1.) Observe
2.)Describe- This photograph is a 4" by 6" digital print on lustre paper in a light grey 8" by 10" frame of a tree. This photo was captured in the transition between summer in fall late September 2019. The tree is slanted from bottom right corner to the top left. The photograph displays strong vibrant colors behind the main focal point (of the tree) of yellow and green leaves from the other Aspens. The tree portrays a face with a piece of bark slit down the side as hair!
3.)Analyze- One element of Design that this photo best represents is texture and it creates the Principal of Design emphasis. The viewers eye is automatically drawn to the tree trunk's face on the Aspen. This is important because...
4.)Interpret- My interpretation of this photo is that it is intended to give the viewer a sense of clarity. When you look at the photo it has crisp, clear and smooth lines. The colors are very defined as well. Additionally, my intentions of this photo was to come across as whimsical and an alternate perspective! The reason for this is because when I walked by that Aspen I essentially thought of it as a face which it was a funny looking face to me. Also that nature has funny shapes and people have a different perspective towards nature. I saw a face and others might have seen a tree trunk with some black marks all over it.
5.)Evaluate- I think this photo is very successful because I had a mental image of the turn out for the tree and it completely came true. All of the colors blended very well and I especially enjoy how the texture is emphasized though the photo! One thing that could be changed about the piece to make it better would be not having the school building in the background. The tree could have been inserted into another image without the building.
